How do you start a personal injury claim after suffering an injury at work in the UK

Starting your personal injury claim

Once your chosen solicitor has agreed to take the case on and dealt with the "no win no fee" agreement (if applicable) they will then take a statement from you about the circumstances of the accident. This statement, usually taken through a telephone interview of face to face meeting, is very important. It gives the claimant an opportunity to set out clearly what happened on the day of the event and to provide any evidence in support of the claim.

Once the facts are gathered and the solicitor is happy to proceed with the case, the next step involves contacting the liable party (usually the employer) and informing them that a claim is being made against them.

The vast majority of claims are made against the employers insurance company who will deal with the matter in full on their behalf.
