Slips, trips and falls campaign 2008

The Health and Safety Executive hopes to raise awareness of the dangers of slips, trips and falls at work - 15th January 2008

The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) are running a new campaign throughout February and March 2008 to try and raise awareness of slips, trips and falls in the workplace.

The campaigns aim is to help those involved raise awareness of the health and safety risks and help them take simple actions that will prevent slips, trips and falls in the workplace.

Each month over 1,000 workers will receive a serious injury at work following a slip, trip or fall. Primarily the campaign is aimed at those who are at the greatest risk of a slip, trip or fall, and those who are able to take action to prevent the workplace injuries occurring.

It is in the employers’ interests to take note of the campaign to see how they can reduce accidents at work which could result in compensation claims.

Slips, trips and fall accidents in the workplace will still occur, and the HSE are urging anyone who works in an area where these types of accident are likely to happen to get involved in the campaign. To find out how to get involved sign up for their free regular e-bulletin updates.

Slips, trips and falls at work can shatter lives.
